Bio

Jeff Bloom is an Austin, Texas based guitarist, composer and software developer. He has composed and played music in a wide range of styles including latin, rock, jazz, punk, electronic, metal and more. He has also worked on a wide range of software projects developing products large and small.

Jeff started out in music at age five with piano lessons and later played trumpet, drums and finally found guitar as a focus instrument. In the early 90s after attending a Berklee college of music summer program he decided to move to Texas to attend the University of North Texas and study jazz guitar. Later he moved to Austin where he has written, performed and recorded music for jazz, rock and latin groups and as well as for film and game projects.

Always striving to evolve musically Jeff is currently expanding his portfolio of compositions and tracks as well as exploring new approaches to electric and acoustic guitar.

In addition to music Jeff has worked as a professional software engineer where he has worked on many published video game titles and business software.

He lives in Austin with his wife Jennifer Balkan (an accomplished painter), their son Karlo (an aspiring drummer and athlete) and their dog Nigel.
